Fish is one of the tastiest foods that you can add to your diet in the name of health. While other nutrient-dense foods often take a little bit of getting used to because of their bitter tastes, or their lack of similarity to the originals - like kale, arugula, and whole grain bread - whitefish like pacific Pollock can be integrated without much of an issue. There are simply so many different ways to prepare fishes like pacific pollock that recipes can be found that will satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. If you like chicken, you will like whitefish! But chicken does not have all of the same concentration of minerals, vitamins, and healthy fats like Omega-3 fatty acids that delicious seafood like pacific pollock has.
One of the most basic ways to prepare whitefish is to bake it. This is generally considered the healthiest option, because it does not add a lot of fats or other unhealthy ingredients to the fish. Baking pacific Pollock simply requires preheating the oven to about 350 degrees Fahrenheit, lightly coating the fish in oil or butter, and baking for about 25-30 minutes. You can add a few spices like pepper or parsley if you would like, to add a bit of flavor in addition to the standard pinches of salt that you might want to add.
You can also add breading to the fish to make it appeal to children or more finicky eaters. Any breading recipe that you might use for chicken or eggplant will do - these usually involve some combination of flour, breadcrumbs, and egg. You can either bake it - a slightly healthier option - or fry it. Just remember, if you decide to fry it, this is not the time to skimp on the oil. You need to make sure that it is at last an inch thick, otherwise the fish will fall apart and the coating will slide off.
White fish like pacific pollock can also be thrown on the grill, but this is best done if the fish is placed in a tin foil wrap, to keep in the flavors and juices, and prevent it from falling apart. Eat it with salad, and you are good to go!
